Story
An engine of the large 50-series in Germany. When the federal railways of Germany changed their numbering scheme, the class 50 was to big to become class 050. Therefore the engines with higher numbers ended up in additional classes: 051, 052 and 053.

Remarks | The development of this class started in 1937 as a replacement for the old freight-train engines in Germany. From this series special simplified versions were derived during the war. After the war many were converted in Eastern Germany (rebuild). |
