Story

The company was founded officialy at June 8, 1872. The timing was such that no orders for steamlocomotives were given. Not earlier than in 1874 the first steam locomotive was delivered. Production numbers raised in the following years. In 1882 the company acquired the rights to build fireless steamlocomotives according to the patent of Lamm-Francqo in Germany. From the 2000 fireless engines build in Germany, about 400 were build by Hohenzollern. The situation for the German railroad industry got worse in 1929. No orders were coming and the factory in Düsseldorf had to be closed in august 1929. This was the end of the Hohenzollern company, althoug officially the firm was solved on may 15, 1934.
