Story

This engine was part of a serie of locomotives that was ordered after WO II by the Luxembourgian State Railroad company. The Wiener Locomotive factory Florisdorf builded this type as series 42 during the war. The Luxemourgian machines were build out of material that was left over from German orders. In 1949 the engine was put into service. In 1964 the steam era ended in Luxembourg. Thanks to the mayor of Bettembourg engine 5519 was saved and put on a pedestal in a park. The engine was leased to the city. In 1987 the city councel approved the 5519 association to restaure the engine into working condition.
