Story
Their simplicity and economy meant that they remained in service in a significant quantity to the end of steam traction at FS, which occurred in the early 80s. As in most major Italian stations, the class 835 were in service for many decades to maneuver in the central station of Trieste, Trieste Campo Marzio and Udine. Sometimes they were used for towing the transfer-train over the characteristic line along the waterfront of Trieste. This locomotive is 834.231, built by the Officine Meccaniche of Naples in 1911, constructionnumber 376. It remained in service at Trieste Central station until 1980.
